Thank You Sir, May I Have Another?

***Press Sample***

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend so far!  I got to start mine off with some board breaking in taekwondo - it was awesome! :D  I broke three boards, only one of them took two tries ^_^

I wanted to show you some awesome Animal House themed polishes released a few weeks back by Sassy Polish and Scrubs.

There are a total of 9 polishes in the set, from thermals to sun reactives and glitter bombs!  I have 6 of those 9 to show you today!

Let's start with "7 Years of College:"

7 Years of College is beautiful teal color with a subtle holographic effect.  It applied smoothly and evenly, opaque in 2 coats and dry in about 5 minutes.

Next up is "Flounder's 10,000 Marbles:"

Flounder's 10,000 Marbles is a glitter topper packed with various sized round glitters and a holographic shimmer.  This also applied very smoothly with minimal clumping and was dry in under 5 minutes.  It is shown in one coat over a black base in the photos above.

Next up is "Toga! Toga!"

Toga! Toga! is a sparkly white jelly with iridescent bar glitters.  This applied a little thicker but still smoothly, and was still not quite opaque with 3 coats - so if you have a problem with VNL, I'd wear either a nude or white base color before applying this color.

Next is the sun reactive "Thank U, Sir, May I Have Another?"

 Indoors

Top: Outdoors, Bottom: Indoors

Thank U, Sir, May I Have Another is a light silver/blue color with blue glitters and a holo shimmer throughout.  This polish transforms to a dark blue color in the sunlight.  It applies evenly, but again would require a base coat of a solid polish color if you want it to be completely opaque.  This polish also dries in under 5 minutes.

Next is another sun reactive "Oh Boy, This Is Great!"

 Outdoors
Top: Indoors, Bottom: Outdoors

Oh Boy, This Is Great! is a very light pink/purple jelly with a subtle holographic shimmer that deepens to a darker pink/purple in the sunlight.  This is a very sheer polish and would most definitely require a base color to be completely opaque.  It applied smoothly and dried in under 5 minutes.

Last up is a bonus polish you receive when you purchase the full collection, and it is called, "Double Secret Probation:"

Double Secret Probation is a gorgeous shimmer polish with a holographic dusting and LOTS of sparkle!  This would look best over a solid colored polish.  Application was very smooth and even, and it dried in under 5 minutes.  Definitely a stunner, and definitely my favorite of the bunch!

The Ups:  If you're an Animal House lover, these polishes are just right for you!  I think they're an excellent reflection of the parts of the film for which they are named, and they're an overall fun set of polishes with lots of different effects and finishes!

The Downs:  Most of the polishes are thin and sheer, so you would need a base color if you have a problem with Visible Nail Line.  This *could* be an irritation for some.  Also, the sun reactives weren't too terribly powerful, but were enough to make a fun change in the sunlight!

Overall:  The Animal House collection is a lot of fun!  The creator put great effort into these, and it's such an awesome eclectic bunch of polishes.

You can find the full collection here, and there is a separate listing for the full collection in mini size here

So what do you think of the collection?  Do you have a favorite?  Have you seen Animal House, and if so do you like the polishes' representation of the film?

Polish was provided at discount in exchange for pictures and review.  My opinions remain 100% honest.

  1. These are pretty! A bit sheer, but I think I'd just put them over a base. :0)

  3. Gorgeous swatches. It's kind of sad that they are so sheer, I prefer them more opaque personally.

  4. I love your swatches but I don't know about the polish, I think I would wear them layered. Especially the purple could look good over another color.

  5. Oh Boy, This Is Great! is my fave, but only when it's outdoors. All the polishes are so sheer, I'm not such a huge fan of that. :-(

  7. I haven't seen animal house and don't really like VNL, so would likely pass on these. I do like Flounder's 10 000 Marbles and 7 Years of College though!

  11. Great swatches! This is not the first time I've seen very sheer polishes from Sassy Polish, though. They're very pretty otherwise, though!

  12. Lovely swatches! I think most of these would be too sheer for my tastes although it's nice to read that they are fast drying so that would help when layering them to opacity.
