Gothic Gala Lacquers "Science Is Beautiful" Collection

I hope everyone had a delightful weekend!  Mine was packed with a birthday party and Mother's Day fun :)  Today I've got the gorgeous new Science Is Beautiful collection to show you by Gothic Gala Lacquers!  There are 5 polishes in this collection, all full-coverage microglitters.  In all photos below, I am wearing two coats of the polish followed by a coat of "Smooth Me Over" and then a coat of HKGirl Glisten & Glow for added shine.

First up: Weird Science

Weird Science is packed with gold holo and pink microglitters.

Next up: Blinded Me With Science

Blinded Me With Science is a silver holo with an assortment of other colored microglitters.

Next: Sounds of Science

Sounds of Science is a teal holo microglitter with green and aqua glitters.

Next: Science Is Real

Science Is Real is a red microglitter with purple holo microglitters.

Last up is my favorite: Theory of Everything

Theory of Everything is a blue microglitter polish with flashes of silver holo glitter.

The Ups: Full coverage in two coats.  FULL COVERAGE!  I loooooooove sparkly glitters that are full coverage in two coats or less!!  These also dried fairly quickly, though it took longer with the added topcoats.

The Downs:  The polishes tended to thicken up with the second coat, but I have a high suspicion that is due to the hot weather we are having here in Phoenix.

Overall:  If you're a fan of sparkly glittery holo-y goodness, you need this collection!  The polish applies smoothly and evenly, dries in a decent amount of time, and is absolutely blinding in the sunlight!!  They're simply stunning, every one of them!

Gothic Gala Lacquers Beach Duo + Nail Art

I tell you what, allergy colds that last over a week can just go off and die.  Going on day 9 now, and I'm finally able to hear fully out of my left ear.  Good thing it doesn't affect my nails, eh? ;)

Today I've got a perfect-for-summer brand new pair of polishes by Gothic Gala Lacquers to show you.  It is called the Beach Duo:

Let's take a closer look at the polishes individually, starting with "Ocean:"

Ocean is a lovely blue/green polish with an aqua blue/green shimmer throughout.  The polish applies like a dream and is opaque in about 3 coats, depending on how thick you apply (I always apply in thin coats, and am wearing three in the photo above).  It also dries very quickly in under 5 minutes to a shiny finish.

The second polish is "Sand:"

Outdoor shot in direct sunlight so you can see the glittery goodness of it!

Sand is a gorgeous micro glitter topper consisting of gold and brown glitters, as well as blue and green flakies that represent beach glass.  Because it is a micro glitter, there's a lot more coverage in each layer, so this polish could be full coverage in 2-3 coats (again, depending on how thick you apply).  It dries in under 5 minutes to a textured finish, so a nice coat of Smooth Me Over would even it out nicely, and a quick coat of HK Girl Glisten & Glow would make it shine nicely, and really bring out that shimmer and glitter.

This duo is so totally perfect for a beach scene!  It definitely reminds me of beach trips in the summer - so much so that I decided to do some nail art to emulate that feeling:

Little fishies and beach stones ^_^  That was my childhood growing up in Washington, taking trips to Puget Sound to play along the water's edge, flipping over stones to look for fun critters and crabs underneath :D

Polish Post: Love Angeline "Lapis Ensemble" and "Chord of Emeralds" Swatches & Review

Goooooooood morning!  We're already halfway through the week!  I can't believe how fast this month is flying by - this entire year, actually.  I feel like as soon as July hit, months have been flying.  It's crazy.

Today's polish post features two polishes from the indie brand Love Angeline's new "Harmonious Gemstones collection.  The first of these lovelies is called, "Lapis Ensemble."

Lapis Ensemble is packed full of navy, silver, periwinkle, various metallic, and gold holo micro glitters.  It's quite an eye-catcher in direct sunlight.  Application was a bit tough - the glitter got really thick by coat number 2 and didn't spread easily.  I did 3 coats to bring it to complete opacity, but I applied it in thin layers rather than thick because I found it was easier to handle that way.  The polish dried to a semi-textured finish in under a minute.  I topped it with two coats of HK Girl Glisten & Glow to even it out and make it shimmer more.

The second color is "Chord of Emeralds:"

Chord of Emeralds has green, brown, silver, metallic, and gold holo micro glitters, and application/dry time/opacity is all exactly the same as Lapis Ensemble.  This one is my favorite of the two, though, because that green is really quite stunning outdoors AND indoors :)
