The Polish Bar Late Summer 2015 Collection

***Press Sample***

It's Friiiiiiiiday!!!  W00T!  Every Friday I think of the same meme that I seem to see in my Facebook feed on a bi-weekly basis:

But is just sums up the feels of Friday so well!

This Friday I've got four of the seven polishes from The Polish Bar's new Late Summer 2015 Collection to show you!

And I finally had an excuse to use the pretty flower hair clips my mom got me last year on her vacation to Hawaii ^_^  On to the polish!

First up is Hanalei Bay:

Hanalei Bay is a white creme polish with various purple, pink, blue, and turquoise colored glitters throughout in different shapes and sizes.  I applied two thick coats in the photos above and the polish applied super smoothly and evenly, which I honestly didn't expect because of the fact the glitters are on the larger end of the spectrum.  It was a very pleasant surprise!  Dried to a shiny finish, but I added a layer of KBShimmer's Clearly On Top to help smooth out those glitters.

Next is Lanikai:

Sun shot!!  Ohhhhhh the holo goodness!!!

Lanikai is a pretty, bright neon pink with a scattered holographic shimmer throughout.  I am wearing two thick coats in the photos above, though I tells ya, you may be able to get away with it as a one-coater, especially if you have shorter nails that don't tend to have visible nail line.  Dried in good time, too, to a shiny finish.  Again, I added Clearly On Top to make that holo POP!

Here we have Waikiki:

Waikiki is a fun off white glitterbomb packed and packed and PACKED with lots of tiny neon glitters!  This one was more on the thin side - I applied three coats in the photos above (thinner than the previous two polishes) and you can still see nail line.  If you apply it thicker, most likely it will be opaque in three coats.  This one dried to a textured finish (due to the glitter) so I added Clearly On Top to smooth it out.

And last but not least we have Seychelles:

Sun Shot!!

Seychelles is a gorgeously bright neon green with a scattered holographic and gold shimmer.  This one was the biggest stunner of the four I received - I mean WOWZERS, what a looker!  Same application as Lanikai, though a tad thinner, so two thick coats should bring it to opacity.  And as the others, there is one coat of Clearly On Top, because I'm an adult, and I do what I want.

These four beauties and their three beautiful friends are all available today at 4pm PST in The Polish Bar shop!  You can also follow the Facebook page and Instagram for updates on new collections and release dates :)

What do you think of these polishes?  Do any of them strike your fancy?

M Polish Cayuga and Pekin

***Press Sample***

Late to the game today - busy busy morning!  Finally able to sit down and write about the perfect white and black stamping polishes "Pekin" and "Cayuga" by M Polish!

I decided to veer away from the Duck theme for this mani since these two colors are more universal - and not everybody like ducks :P  Don't wanna overkill!!  So here is the mani I created using Pekin and Cayuga:

I put on one coat of White Jelly and Black Jelly polish by Jior Couture and stamped Pekin and Cayuga over using one of my lace designs from my Sugar Bubbles plate #018.  I love this look - I have wanted to do this type of design for a while- it's great to be able to finally do it using such spectacular polish!  I decided not to topcoat this mani because I loved the contrast of the shiny jelly with the matte finish of the stamping polish.  And as always, the polish was super easy to work with!  Parts of the white did not transfer onto my middle nail, but that was my fault in taking to long to transfer the image - and I was too lazy to re-do the nail :P

Pekin and Cayuga are available for purchase in the M Polish shop at $9.50 for the 15ml full size, and $3.25 for the 5ml mini size.  You can also follow the brand's Facebook PageFan Group, and Instagram for updates on new collections and release dates.

What do you think of this design?  Will you be picking up either (or both!) of the new M Polishes?

Lucky Duck

***Press Sample...Sort Of***

So this post was originally going to be Part 1 of a press sample for the amazing M Polish stamping polish.  However, she was having some formula issues with most of the colors in her upcoming new collection, and decided to scrap all but the black and white ones (which I will show you on Thursday!).  I had already done two designs using two of the colors she has cancelled launching, so I thought I'd just share the manis with you, because I'm rather fond of how they turned out!

The original collection consisted of five polishes, four of them named for the type of ducks the maker raises.  The first of those is a brown called "Rouen."  They look like this:

I've seen these ducks everywhere - there are even some here in Phoenix I think.  I find them very handsome and sweet :)  I particularly love the patterning on the chest feathers.  I chose to stamp using a design that very closely emanates that pattern:

The design came from one of my Flowers stamping plates.  The feather on the middle finger is a real duck feather (I collect them from the pond by my house after the ducks shed their coats - totally humane, I promise :D ).  The base color is "Pekin," the white polish that is available now.

The other design I created using "Blue Swedish" - the ducks look like this:

I love the iridescent green of the head and neck feathers - so pretty!!!  Here's the design I came up with for this polish:

His name is Hector ^_^

I used some feather images from a Born Pretty stamping plate and freehand painted the duck.  All of the art is done over a basic yellow creme polish.

The white (Pekin) and black (Cayuga) stamping polish ARE available now for $9.50 for the 15ml full size and $3.25 for the 5ml mini.  I will have more designs using just those two later on in the week :)
What do you think of these designs?  Do you have an affinity for duckies? :D

While the launch of the colored polishes used are TBD, they were sent to me by the maker for photography and art purposes.  All opinions and art are my own.

Smokey Mountain Lacquers LE August Duo

Hello my dears!!  Did you miss me?  I do apologize for my absence.  I needed a short break to get things in order in my personal life, and I'll be making a little announcement about that soon ;)

In the meantime, let's talk about this gorgeous Limited Edition August Duo by Smokey Mountain Lacquers!!

This duo consists of two polishes: Jade and Copperline. Let's take a look at Jade first:

Jade is a beautiful dark emerald green with a golden shimmer throughout.  This polish is opaque in two coats, as shown in the photos above.

Next up is Copperline:

Copperline is a gorgeous FULL COVERAGE glitter bomb packed with copper holographic micro glitters.  Full coverage in three thin coats (or two thick coats).  This dries subtly textured, so I recommend a topcoat to smooth things over as well as to make that holo goodness really pop!  I will have a video up on my Instagram account today showcasing the sparkle in direct sunlight.

I had no issues with either of these polishes.  They both applied smoothly and evenly, and dried in under 5 minutes.

Jade and Copperline will be available as a Duo for $18.50 for the 15ml full size and $11.00 for the 8ml mini.  These are also being offered individually at $10.00 (full size) and $6.00 (mini) for Jade, and $10.00 (full) and $6.00 (mini) for Copperline.  They are available now in the Smokey Mountain Lacquers shop!  You can also follow this brand's Facebook, Fan Group, Instagram, and Twitter for updates on upcoming releases :)

What do you think of this duo?  Do you prefer one over the other?
