Challenge Your Nail Art: Fall Food

I am very, very late to post today - I apologize.  I've been feeling quite under the weather and very slow-going today.  I'll be keeping this one short and sweet :)

As you can see, today's theme for Challenge Your Nail Art is Fall Food.  I decided to go with a lattice and traditional pie look - check it out:

I found a great tutorial on how to do this here.  I used acrylic paints, though, instead of nail polish (as she did in the instructable).  I'm pretty pleased :)

November Nail Art Challenge: Tape Mani

Yesterday was the next theme for the November Nail Art Challenge created by CaliforNails.

I haven't done too much with nail tape - it had usually ended in disaster before!  It would either peel the polish up underneath it when I removed it, or wasn't pressed down enough and polish leaked underneath it, or the ends started coming up on the sides moments after putting the tape down.  Yeah, we didn't get along too well :P

So when this theme came around, I wasn't too thrilled about it...but knew I wanted to give it another shot!  Here is the design I came up with:

A little Easter in colors, but it still turned out nicely!  And I happened to have nail tape in colors that matched the polishes, so it worked out well :)  I'm pretty happy with it!  Though I will say - the darn ends of the tape started coming up on the sides the next morning (and I did this design in the evening shortly before bedtime).  I'm thinking it might had stayed down had I put a topcoat over it - but I wanted a matte look for the polish to contrast the shiny of the tape.  An experiment for next time!

November Nail Art Challenge: Plaid

Happy Friday!!  I hope you all survived your week and have some awesome plans for this weekend ^_^

Today is the 3rd challenge theme created by CaliforNails on Instagram.  Here's the full schedule:

As you can see, the theme is "plaid."  I gotta say, this one was a toughie for me.  I had a problem picking on design, then I had a problem keeping my lines straight.  Ugh!!  Who knew that painting tiny details in picture form on my nails would be easier than painting a straight line :P  I have BIG respect for the beautiful ladies that do these types of design all the time like it's no big deal.  You all are amazing!

So, here is my sad, sad Plaid design:

*sigh* I will probably do my best to try this design again soon, not only in better colors, but with all the nails the same pattern.  I feel like I need to redeem myself.  I actually tried to re-create the patterns of some of my knee-high socks I had to wear as part of my uniform in high school :)  The socks look much better than the nails :P  Ah well, at least I tried, and can now say I have done this particular design before!  Silver lining!
