Silence Tally Mark Day

FELLOW WHOVIANS!!!

Today is an *awesome* day!!

You bet your booty I did a mani for this :D  I belong to a super fun and awesome group on Facebook called "Doctor Who And Nails" (you should totally join, we're Fantastic!) and we all decided to do a link-up for this awesome day!!!

For those of you who don't know what the bloody what I'm talking about, let me give you a brief run down.  "The Silence" is an alien race that you will only remember if you are looking at it - the second you turn away, you forget it (later on in the season, the main characters in the show began writing tally marks all over themselves whenever they saw The Silence).

On April 23rd, 2011, The Impossible Astronaut episode aired and this is when we first see The Silence.  So to honor that episode, we all created Tally Mark manis!  Here is mine!

For my mani, I used "Silence, Boy!" by Baroness X because it's ironic and also a DW themed polish, Bow Thermo topcoat by Dance Legend, and Pure Colors nail art brush #10 from What's Up Nails.

...What were we talking about again?

Hey look!!  Tally Mark Manis!! :D

Gothic Gala Lacquers "St. Patrick's Day Trio"

***Press Sample***

Source: Google Image Search

This image was a lot funnier when I was younger and my friends and I enjoyed the Irish spirits in excess.  Now, I don't even remember the last time I was imbibed on alcohol on St. Patrick's Day... I've been lucky if I have time to make Shepherd's Pie.

Anywho, sticking with the holiday trend, I've got a beautiful St. Patrick's Day trio to show you today from Gothic Gala Lacquers!!

The first in this lovely trio is called, "Neart Istigh" - Gaelic for "Inner Strength:"

Neart Istigh is a beautiful gold shimmer polish with the slightest hint of scattered holo.  Dried in under 5 minutes and shown in 2 coats in the photos above.

Next is "Is Brea" - Gaelic for "Love:"

Is Brea is a stunning deep green with a gold scattered holographic effect.  Opaque in 2 coats, as shown in the photos above.  My accent nail is stamped with a design from my Messy Mansion St. Pat's plate using Neart Istigh for the polish, all topped with Smooth Me Over Matte (also by Gothic Gala Lacquers).

The final beauty in this trio is "Aisling" - Gaelic for "Dream:"

Aisling is a lovely light cream color (reminiscent of the head of Guinness beer when poured into a glass) with a lovely coppery shimmer throughout.  Opaque in 2-3 coats, depending on how thick you apply - I am wearing 3 thin coats in the photos above.  I also wore this mani for almost a week, because I loved it so much!!  The accent nail was done using vinyls from What's Up Nails and Is Brea for the polish - the two look so fantastic together :D

You can get this absolutely perfect St. Patrick's Day trio today, March 7th at 11am PST!  Pro-tip: using my code MOMMRSANDME25 will not only get you 25% off, it will also make you 25% cooler.

Here's where you can purchase the trio, and where you can follow the brand:

HPB Presents: Gradient

*Contains Press Sample*

Well, not just today, but the entirety of last week.  I had a baby, y'all.  Mama is tired!  I regret nothing.

NOTHING!

So now I bring you a post with some nail art on the longest nails I think I've ever had - so long that I actually trimmed them down this weekend because they were becoming weapons, and I really didn't want to go through the hassle of registering them.

The always-amazing group Hobby Polish Bloggers put together another awesome link-up for the members, and this month's theme is "gradient."  I've been sitting on the beautiful "Make It Merry" Christmas Trio by 77 Nail Lacquer for about a month, wanting to do something awesome with them, but not sure what.

This gradient theme was the perfect answer :D  So here's what I came up with:

Holooooooo!!!  Hngggggggg so gorgeous...

So for this look, I used "Santa Baby" for the base color.  I then used the "fishnet" vinyl stencil from What's Up Nails and sponged a gradient over Santa Baby using "Under the Mistletoe" and "Winter's Kiss."  The end result is everything I wanted it to be and then some - probably the best and smoothest gradient I have done thus far in my nail art life.  Huzzah!

So whatcha think?  Let me know in the comments, and be sure to check out the other nail designs through the inlinkz below <3
