Octopus Party Nail Lacquer New Releases

***Press Sample***

I was going to title this the Rave but not Rave collection as a joke for some of us in the fan group, who are set that this was turning out to be a Rave collection :P  But then I thought people may not actually read this post and find out that's not the name of the polishes, then have a conniption fit when they couldn't find the Rave but not Rave collection :P

Anyway!

Dave of Octopus Party Nail Lacquer recently released four new colors for summer.  So here's some swatch porn for you :D

Let's start with Disco Tech:

Blacklight Shot - BAM!

Disco Tech is an awesome purple jelly packed with various sized neon orange dots.  It's packed, but it's not super thick, like oh so many other glitter-packed polishes.  I am wearing 3 thin coats and a topcoat in the photos above over my nekkid nails.  Yeah you can see my Visible Nail Line through it - I've got naughty nails, what can I say?

Next up: Sobriquet

Sobriquet is a vampy deep, dark blue (like, Midnight Zone blue) with a smattering of blue shimmer.  It's so freakin' gorgeous, folks.  I luffles it.  My favorite of the four new polishes.  I'm wearing 2 coats with a topcoat.

Here we have: Blessed Be The Tide That Binds

Blessed Be the Tide That Binds is a sparkletastic glitter topcoat packed with various sized green and blue holo glitters, as well as a turquoise flakie shimmer.  It's glorious.  I am wearing 1 coat over Sobriquet on all fingers but the ring finger - that one's doing a solo act with 2 coats.  All nails are topcoated.

And lastly we have: Racqueteering

Racqueteering is a HOLY CRAP neon citron color - very reminiscent of a tennis ball.  I just can't with this one - it's a perfect neon with incredibly smooth application, and opaque in 2 coats with no basecoat.  You read that right,  NO BASECOAT.  *I die...and come back.*

You want these?  Oh c'mon, yes you do!  There will be a small re-stock this morning of the leftover bottles from the last launch.  When?  11AM EST.  Here are some linkages:

Pretty Beautiful Polish's "Wedded Bliss" Collection

***Press Sample***

Today I've got a beautiful trio to show you from Pretty Beautiful Polish!

Wedded Bliss Trio

Say hello to the Wedded Bliss collection!  "Hello, Wedded Bliss Collection - you are looking lovely today!"  This beautiful trio was created for the maker's 7 year wedding anniversary <3  Congratulations, Virginia!!  Many years to you and your hubs!!

Okay, let's start with "Happily Ever After:"

Happily Ever After Wedded Bliss

Happily Ever After Wedded Bliss

Happily Ever After Wedded Bliss

Happily Ever After is a crelly with a light gray base packed with various sized yellow, purple, green, and gold glitters as well as silver holo micro shreds and Ultra Chameleon Chrome (UCC) flakies that shift from green to blue and purple.  It's got a lot of character, and despite the various glitters and flakies involved, everything complements each other, and the application is nice and smooth.  I didn't have to move glitters where I wanted them :P  Shown above is 2 coats with topcoat.

Next is "Bliss:"

Wedded Bliss

Bliss is a mint green base with various sized purple and dark green glitters as well as UCC flakies that shift from copper to gold and green.  This one also applied very evenly, and was more opaque than Happily Ever After.  I'm a big sucker for minty greens, too, so this one delighted me from the start :D  Shown as 2 coats with topcoat.

And lastly we have "I Love You More:"

I Love You More Wedded Bliss

I Love You More Wedded Bliss

I Love You More Wedded Bliss

I Love You More Wedded Bliss

I Love You More is an off-white tinted base with various sized purple glitters, UCC flakies in violet, red, and orange, and a lovely purple shimmer.  Surprisingly, I actually liked this one the best!  Another smooth application, perfectly opaque in 2 coats, and smoothed out nicely with topcoat.  I really like that the base is off-white, I feel like it actually made it a more pronounced color on my fingers.  Absolutely lovely :)

The Wedded Bliss Collection will be released Monday, May 9th at 1pm CST - mark your calendars!!  Here are some social links for you:

What do you think of this trio?  Does it tickle your fancy?  Let me know in the comments!

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer - New Colors and Restock!

***Press Sample***

I'd like to tell you of something really fun going on in my life, but alas, it is still Same Shit, Different Day.  So, on to polish!

Dave over at Octopus Party Nail Lacquer has come up with two new beautiful colors to release today, as well as a re-stock of a ton of other polishes (we'll get to that later).

The first of these two new colors: "You Got the Zest of Me"

Oh he's so witty with his polish names, that Dave!  You Got the Zest of Me is a lovely orange jelly holo with orange/green iridescent flakies throughout.  I am wearing two coats in the photos above with topcoat.  I tell you, I really thought this color might look like sick poop with my skin tone, but I was very happy to see that was not the case!

And the second new color: "Matcha Maker"

Yeah, I know you all know this one's my favorite, and I know you know why.  Matcha Maker is a divine green would-we-call-it-a-frost-? with an insane green/blue shimmer that makes it look like my nails are radioactive I LOVE IT.  There are some rainbow flakies throughout this polish, but they get a bit lost in the GLOWSTICK AWESOMENESS that is Matcha Maker.  I am wearing 2 coats in the photos above with no topcoat - it was shiny and perfect on its own.  I love it.  You must get this polish.

Speaking of, here's where you can!

Shop will be live today at 8am PST/11am EST and will be open until Sunday, May 1st at 12pm PST, 3pm EST.  Here is a list of eeeeeeeeverything re-stocking:

The Algae-atic Sea (new to the shop - from the Creme A La Mode Box)
Matcha Maker (new to the shop)
You Got the Zest of Me (new to the shop)

I have linked each of those to either one of my blog posts or one of the lovely Nichole's (Bedlam Beauty) to show you swatches of each polish, in case you can't remember/are curious as to what these each look like.

Will you be picking up anything else to go with Matcha Maker? (See what I did there?  I'm so cheeky.)

Silence Tally Mark Day

FELLOW WHOVIANS!!!

Today is an *awesome* day!!

You bet your booty I did a mani for this :D  I belong to a super fun and awesome group on Facebook called "Doctor Who And Nails" (you should totally join, we're Fantastic!) and we all decided to do a link-up for this awesome day!!!

For those of you who don't know what the bloody what I'm talking about, let me give you a brief run down.  "The Silence" is an alien race that you will only remember if you are looking at it - the second you turn away, you forget it (later on in the season, the main characters in the show began writing tally marks all over themselves whenever they saw The Silence).

On April 23rd, 2011, The Impossible Astronaut episode aired and this is when we first see The Silence.  So to honor that episode, we all created Tally Mark manis!  Here is mine!

For my mani, I used "Silence, Boy!" by Baroness X because it's ironic and also a DW themed polish, Bow Thermo topcoat by Dance Legend, and Pure Colors nail art brush #10 from What's Up Nails.

...What were we talking about again?

Hey look!!  Tally Mark Manis!! :D

Quick post for you today as I have family visiting :)

Are you a fan of "crelly" polishes?  If your answer is "why yes, yes I am!" then you may want to think about joining the awesome group Crazy 4 Crellies on Facebook!  Crelly lovers far and wide come together to talk about them, share links to their favorites, and so much more - and the best part?  Every month is a special custom (or two!) made just for members of the group!  This month, the guest maker is Smokey Mountain Lacquers (a personal favorite brand of mine ^_^ ).  I was lucky enough to receive the two she made to swatch, and share with you today!

First up is "Under the Sea" - here's the inspiration pic:

And here's her result:

Under the Sea is a lovely medium/periwinkle-leaning blue filled with small blue hexagonal glitters, large white dots, and a lovely purple shimmer.  Opaque in 2-3 coats, depending on how thick you apply, and I recommend a good topcoat to smooth things out.

The second polish in the duo is "Enchanted Forest" - here's the inspiration pic:

And here's her result:

Enchanted Forest is a gorgeous forest green loaded with brown, gold, and green glitters and flakes as well as a beautiful blue shimmer.  This one is opaque in 1-2 coats, depending on how thick you apply.  This one is also my favorite of the two :D  It's just so SPARKLY!!!

These two will only be available through the end of April, and ONLY if you are a member of the group!!  Join here: Crazy 4 Crellies!!  Once you join, click on the "Events" tab at the top of the page and click "join" for the April group custom to be able to purchase one or both of these polishes.  Here are some social links for Smokey Mountain Lacquers:
