M Polish Winter 2015 Collection - Part 1

***Press Sample***

A week and a half later, and I think we're all done sharing the sickness travelling around my house.  Finally, I have time and energy for blogging again!!  You know, just in time for me to have a baby in a month...

Alright, so, M Polish just released an absolutely stunning set of 6 stamping polishes for her Winter 2015 collection!

I'm going to split them up into two posts so you're not overwhelmed with pictures, and to give your eyes a break, or you will likely go blind from the beauty ;)

We'll start today with the metallic polishes!

Please note that in all the swatch photos coming up I used a base coat of OPI's Nail Envy and a topcoat of Ain't Nobody Got Time For That by Digital Nails.

First up:  Carol

Carol is a lovely holographic polish containing bronze microflakies.  I am wearing it here over Zoya's "Cynthia" with images from the "Absolutely Nautical" plate from Winstonia.

Next up: Frost

Frost is a gorgeous holographic polish containing platinum microflakies.  I am wearing it over Zoya's "Racquel" using images from MoYou Nails plate 229.  The ring finger is watermarbled using OPI's Nail Envy and Racquel.

Last up: Bells

Bells is a gorgeous holographic polish with gold microflakies.  I am wearing it over Zoya's "Mira" using images from Marianne plate 85.  I watermarbled Bells with OPI's Nail Envy on my pointer and pinky fingers.  While these metallics do watermarble, I will say it was not as "smooth" as the other stampers, but is still possible.

They all stamped very easily, as M Polishes have always done for me.  Even though these are metallic flakies, they transferred nicely!

You can find these three at the M Polish Shop site, and while some are currently sold out, they will be restocked for her Black Friday sale!!  Here are some links for you:

What do you think of these polishes?  Did you pick any of them up at the launch last week?  Let me know in the comments!!

Gothic Gala Lacquers Mt. Olympus Collection, Part 1

***Press Sample***

Friiiiiiiiday!  W00t!!  I'm very ready for it to be the weekend.  I have a taekwondo tournament tomorrow where I will be doing a short routine with my bow staff.  I'm only a tad nervous...

But let's talk about something way more fun - new polishes from Gothic Gala Lacquers!!  She recently created her largest collection yet inspired by Greek gods, and it is simply divine!!  There are a whopping 10 polishes total, so I'll be splitting up this post over today and tomorrow so you're not overloaded with Awesome ;)  Let's start with the first polish - Aphrodite!

Mattified!

Aphrodite is a beautiful pastel metallic pink.  It is on the thinner side, so even with three coats, as shown in the pictures, you can still see some nail line.  A thin base coat of white or OPI's ridge filler should eliminate that, if it is bothersome to you :)

Next up is Ares:

Ares is a gorgeous deep metallic purple that has a gorgeous subtle golden shimmer in certain lighting.

Here is Athena:

Athena is a beautiful dusty light blue/grey metallic that, to be honest, looks incredible matted!!!

This one is Demeter:

I very much love this one - I'm such a sucker for greens, and this is a gorgeous light metallic lime green!  It's one that would be *perfect* for St. Patty's Day :D

Last up for today is Dionysus:

Dionysus is the perfect wine-colored purple with a brilliant golden shimmer in certain lighting, and it also looks amazing matted!

Application for every one of these was the same - smooth, no pulling or gooping or clumping, and they all dried in under 5 minutes to a shiny finish.  These also look great with a matte topcoat to add a different, delicate look to these metallics :D

I'll have the final five for you tomorrow along with details on costs for the individual bottles and the sets.  What do you think of these colors so far?  Do you like the colors chosen to represent these gods?  Which one is your favorite?

*Press Release* (Part 2): Brooke Anderson & Gabriel Cosmetics "Hush, Hush" & "Shine Y'all" Swatches & Review

***PRESS RELEASE***

You may remember the post I wrote introducing a new line of polishes designed by Brooke Anderson in collaboration with Gabriel Cosmetics.  Well, two of those six lovely polishes were sent to me, and they're quite lovely!  Let's dive right in and start with "Hush, Hush."  Check out my swatches below:

Outdoors

Indoors

Hush, Hush is a lovely metallic black/gunmetal color.  This polish dried to a shiny finish in under five minutes and was opaque in one coat.

The second polish is "Shine Y'all:"
Outdoors

Indoors

Shine Y'all is a glitter bomb polish that dried in under five minutes to a semi-textured finished (shown in the pictures above with an added layer of clear topcoat to even out the texture and make the sparkle/holographic effect stand out).

The Ups:  For Hush, Hush, the polish was rather easy to work with.  The color was technically opaque in one coat, but I felt one more added a little more depth and brought out that shine very well.  I love that it dried so quickly, and I actually really like that it looked pretty much the same indoors and outdoors - so no feature of the polish was "lost" when indoors.

For Shine Y'all, it was a gorgeous eye-catching glitter in the sunlight!  The multi-shaped and sized glitters did indeed shine :D  This polish is a perfect topper over any color.

The Downs: For Hush Hush, to be perfectly honest, this polish was a little bit of a hassle in the clean-up department.  The black stuck into every crease on my finger around my nails, even after using 100% acetone.  It is also a metallic that shows brush directions, meaning if you don't apply the polish in the same direction, you will see brush strokes going in every which way.

For Shine Y'all, it didn't apply as well as I'd hoped for a glitter.  I found I had to dab it on to make sure the entire surface was coated.  Had I simply brushed it on, it would have applied very thin and would have a considerably smaller amount of glitter.

Overall: The two polishes I received are nice!  For the price ($8.50 each), you get a good quality polish that also happens to be pretty beautiful :)  I absolutely love that they are vegan, cruelty free, and gluten free - all natural products are fantastic to me!  Now, while I would personally head to indies first before choosing this brand of polish, because I am partial to indies over mainstream, this brand is still great, and I would not put it on a blacklist of never-to-buy-again.  If you're someone who likes Gabriel Cosmetics, and/or Brooke Anderson, these polishes are definitely right for you!

You can purchase these polishes through Gabriel Cosmetics at this link, and they are a limited edition available now through the holidays - so get while the gettin' is good!

Hope you all have a wonderful Monday!  I will see you soon <3
