40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Halloween

I'd love to do something epic like this for Halloween at my house, but because the weather is still so hot, the pumpkin rots very fast.  And, I would need to be living somewhere with a Home Owners Association that doesn't have a giant stick up its butt.

Anywho - on to the nails!!

Today's prompt for Crumpet's Nail Tarts is "Halloween" (duh!) and I wanted to do something fun!!  Normally with something as epic and broad as Halloween, I'd try to do something freehand.  To be perfectly Frank (cuz I hear he's a pretty honest guy), I ran out of time and energy for it.  Therefore, I went a simpler route, but I promise, it's still pretty darn cool!

I started with a basecoat of "Mercury" on my pointer, middle, and pinky fingers, and "Endeavor" on my ring finger, both polishes by Different Dimension.

I then freehanded some ghosts using Glow Dove, Glow Purp, and Glow Lava by Parrot Polish, and added a Ghost from Daily Charme, and here is the result:

I gotta say, I'm pretty pleased!!  This is what I was hoping it would look like in the end, and it rarely works out that way for me :P  So yay hooray!!

What do you think of this design??  Did you do anything ghostly on your nails for Halloween?  Let me know!! :D  And have a very safe and fun and happy Halloween!!

HPB Presents NEON!

It's so true... For my husband and I, Saturday's are usually more like Fridays, because that's when the free babysitters (a.k.a. Grandma and Grandpa) already had their Friday night (because they don't have kids at home anymore and can do those fun things like going out again...dammit) and are available to watch the munchkins so we can go do an adult thing.  Like go grocery shopping WITHOUT the kidlets.  Or clean the house WITHOUT children uncleaning as we go.

My God, we are so lame...

ANYWHO, I've got a fun post for you today!  I belong to an awesome group on Facebook called Hobby Polish Bloggers.  It's a great hub for all us polish bloggers to talk about the hobby and ask for advice and such.  And it's just a fantastic gathering of amazing gals ^_^  I'm very happy to be a part of it, and that group has helped me many, many times in this little polish blog journey of mine.

Every month, Steph, the admin of the group, puts together a link-up for all of us to join (if we so choose) and we all create a mani inspired by a specific theme.  I've been trying for months to get a mani done for these link-ups, but either press samples or life got in the way.  I *finally* was able to participate in this round, and at the same time was also finally able to use the new Jior Couture Summer collection I ordered when it launched!!

I was inspired to do a design based off one of my favorite games - Gummy Drop!  All those neon fruit candies in those appealing patterns called to me.  They said, "MAKE US INTO A MANI" in creepy little candy voices.  So I did a random pattern dotticure - I was originally trying to make a neon "wave" pattern, but it didn't really turn out too well :P

Oh!  OH!  But here's the best part - it gloooooooooooooows!!!

Aw yeah!!  That purple though - what a brat.  She did NOT want to glow.  At all.  Had to leave my camera shutter open for 5.5 seconds.  What a snob.

I used all the colors in the summer collections sans Geek in the PINK and GOLD rush, and topped the mani off with Jior's topcoat, which they included as a freebie in my order ^_^  I'll definitely be revisiting this collection again soon with more neon goodness :D

What do you think of this design?  Did you get any of the new summer colors by Jior?  Be sure to check out the other manis in the inlinkz below! <3

Challenge Your Nail Art: Love Letters

I knew *instantly* what I wanted to do for today's prompt ^_^  Check it out:

And...it GLOWS!!! :D

I'd seen the letter design on pinterest a while ago, so I did that on the pointer as a "love letter" and then added the x's, o's, and I-L-O-V-E-Y-O-U as love letters - get it?  Eh?  Eh?? :D

I used Serum No.5's "Pure Glow Getter" for the white glow-in-the-dark base, and Gothic Gala Lacquer's "Blushing Bodies" for the glow-in-the-dark heart ^_^  Everything else is acrylic paint.  I'm pretty happy with it!

Check out the other lovely designs below!  I'll be back tomorrow with the next prompt <3

This Is Halloween - Villains

Today's Challenge Your Nail Art theme is Halloween villains.  I had completed a design earlier this week with the intention of posting it tomorrow - however, I really wanted to post this one today because it fits the theme so well!  Here is my submission - The Headless Horseman!

I used one of the movie posters from Sleepy Hollow as a reference for this image.  The background color is "Earth Day 2.0" by Above the Curve, I painted the moon using acrylic paints, painted two coats of Blue Glow by Indigo Bananas, then finished out more detailing on the moon and added the Horseman on his horse and the creepy tree.  All in all, I think it turned out pretty awesome!  Just wish I could have gotten a clearer picture of it glowing >.<

Here are the rest of the entries by the lovely ladies in this challenge - seriously, amazing stuff here!! :D  See you all tomorrow <3

Polish Post: Marbles For Polish! "Ghost" Swatches & Review

Well, I hope you all are having a better start to your Wednesday than I am - woke up to find a nasty mess all over the kitchen floor :-/  Now I get to play the Which-Dog-Did-It game.  Ughhhh.  At least it was the kitchen floor, and not the carpet in the other rooms!

Let's talk about something much more pleasant - a newly released polish by Marbles For Polish! For Fall the creator made a Holo collection.  The one I will be showing you today is called, "Ghost."  Here are the swatch photos:

Outdoors

Indoors

Ghost is a beautiful seafoam green/silver color with a gorgeous holographic effect.  It also glows in the dark, though I did not have a chance to photograph it glowing (don't worry, I plan to do so very soon, and will post those pics on my Facebook page).  Application was smooth and even and took 2 coats for me to make it completely opaque.  It dries to a semi-flat finish, as you can see in the photos, in about 2 minutes.  Very easy polish to work with, and a very beautiful polish inside and outdoors.  Definitely one I would recommend adding to your collection!

Here are some links for you to keep up-to-date with the company:

That's all for today - short post, I know.  Tomorrow I will have the next Princess/Villain set from Ice Polish's "Dreams Come True...Not If I Can Help It!" collection.  See you then! <3
