MTK Autumn Nights Collection

***Press Sample***

Well now I feel old.

I'm thankful though that this is actually true this time - was getting real sick of seeing, every few months, a photoshopped picture of the time machine's future date captioned, "Today is the day Marty McFly arrived in the future!"  It's pretty neat though to see how much the movie and the real October 21st 2015 have in common :)  Still waiting on my self-lacing Nike's - could really go for a pair of those now that it is a struggle to reach my feet with a big ole belly in the way ;)

Today I've got a gorgeous Fall collection to show you by MTK Design!  This collection is called "Autumn Nights" and consists of four polishes.

Note: All swatches are shown with a base coat of OPI's Nail Envy and a topcoat of Pahlish's Magic Mirror.

Let's start with "Hunter's Moon:"

Hunter's Moon is a gorgeous deep red jelly back with red glitters and a subtle blue shimmer.  Shown above is 2 coats.

Next is "Mourningstar:"

Mourningstar is a beautiful dusty purple/grey packed with various holographic glitters.  Shown above is two coats.

Next is "Indian Summer Sunset:"

Indian Summer Sunset is a bright orange/red creme with a scattered holographic shimmer throughout.  Shown above is ONE COAT!  Love one-coaters ^_^  Word of warning - this tended to stain my cuticles just a bit, but if you use pure acetone for the cleanup, it all comes off (as you can see in the photos).

And finally we have "Midnight Stargazing:"

Midnight Stargazing is a gorgeous deep blue jelly packed full of gold and blue glitter flakies.  Shown above is 2 coats.

This whole collection is just beautiful - I love the various types of polishes available, and that they are each unique!  Definitely a great collection for the Fall season!

You can purchase the full set HERE at $40 for the 15ml size, and $20 for the 5ml size.  They are also available individually at the same link at $10 for the 15ml and $5 for the 5ml.  Here are some of the brand's social links for you to follow:

So what do you think of this collection?  Let me know in the comments!!

Gothic Gala Lacquers Autumn Leaves Collection

***Press Sample***

When I lived in states that new how to Autumn, like Washington and Pennsylvania, the worst chore I had was picking up the dog poop, because it was always hidden under the damn leaves.  And if I missed any, and started raking - well, it got pretty gross.  We don't have this problem in Phoenix - one of the very few perks of the lack of Fall here :P

Speaking of Fall, I have a brand new collection by Gothic Gala Lacquers to show you today!  It is called the Autumn Leaves collection and consists of 5 gorgeous polishes - swatch time!!

Note: All polishes are shown with a topcoat of KBShimmer's "Clearly On Top" and are shot in natural light indoors.

Let's start with "Maine:"

Maine is a rusty orange/brown with red flakies.  Opaque in 2 coats, it dries to a shiny finish in under five minutes.

Next up is "New Hampshire:"

New Hampshire is a beautiful light brown/burnt orange (different lighting affects the color) with a subtle gold and red shimmer.  Opaque in 2 coats and dries to a shiny finish in under 5 minutes.

Here we have "Pennsylvania:"

Pennsylvania is a deep chocolate brown with a subtle purple flash (seen in the macro brush shot).  Also opaque in 2 coats, this polish dries to a shiny finish in under 5 minutes.

Next is "Vermont:"

Vermont is a lovely warm orange with gold flakies and shimmer throughout.  Opaque in 2-3 coats (depending on how thick you layer it), this polish dries to a shiny finish in under 5 minutes.  It is a bit thicker than the other polishes, but not unmanageable at all :)

And lastly is the glitter topper "Autumn Leaves:"

Autumn Leaves is packed with various sized red, brown, orange, and holo gold glitters, as well as a copper shimmer throughout.  Show above is one coat over each of the other polishes in this collection.

The Autumn Leaves collection is available now!!  You can purchase the whole collection HERE (10ml full size for $27, 7ml mini size for $20) and receive the "Autumn Leaves" glitter topper for free!  Individual colors can be purchased through their links above.  Here are some social links for you where you can follow and keep up to date with Gothic Gala Lacquers:

What do you think of this collection?  Do these colors scream FALL! to you? :D

Fun with Zoya's "Estelle" and "Aggie"

Another Friday!  Where did LAST week go?!  Oy vey, I tell ya, this week was NUTZ.  So many errands, so little time.  Thank goodness it is the weekend and we have absolutely NOTHING planned ^_^

Recently, Zoya launched two new collection for Fall, one of them is called the Flair Collection, and it is 6 jewel toned metallic polishes that are just absolutely stunning!  A few weeks ago, I received an e-mail from Zoya about a promo of free shipping with the purchase of three polishes.  I took advantage of that and purchased three of my favorites from the Flair Collection (hardest decision of the week).  They came in ridiculously fast and my jaw hit the floor when I looked at them in person.  I've got two to show you today - "Estelle" and "Aggie:"

Estelle is described as, "a blue on blue liquid metal with a blackened base."

I've seen a few other reviews from bloggers who applied Estelle in two coats to achieve a smooth, even look, but I only had to apply one coat to achieve that - maybe the polish thickened up in transit to me, since I live on the surface of the sun.

It's so bloody hot here.

Aggie is described as, "a gold holo flip liquid metal with bronze micro glitter."

Dunno about them "holo" apples, but it was definitely a brilliant gold with a bronze shimmer.  This one almost felt like a tamed duochrome, it was lovely.  Zoya's online description also calls it a "sheer" polish, opaque in 3 coats, but I am wearing one layer over Estelle in the photos, and it looks pretty darn opaque to me.  Again, though, HEAT.  Lots, and lots, of heat where I live.

As you can already see, I chose to do a giraffe design with these two colors.

The blue is just so brilliant and deep it makes for the perfect contrasting background with the brightness of Aggie.  I used vinyls from Up Your Nail - Disturbed Nail Vinyls for the giraffe patterning, and freehand painted the giraffe on my middle finger using acrylic paint.

This is one of the most stunning collections I've seen yet from Zoya, and I will definitely need to be picking up the other three polishes in it.  Have you snagged any of these yet?

Water Marble: Attempt Number 1!

It is *finally* starting to get cold here in Phoenix - and by "cold" I mean staying in the mid 60's, low 70's :P  Sweater weather for us, here :D  The cooler weather brings that Fall feeling along with it - so I've been LOVING it!  Fall is my favorite season, and is one of the things I miss most about Washington State - Fall is absolutely gorgeous out there.

I've been itching to do more Fall-like nail designs, and the first one I've done also happens to be my first attempt at water marbling!  The farthest I've gotten before with water marbling was dropping it in the water, but the polish never spread out and I got frustrated.  I abandoned it because I was so frustrated, and never really wanted to try it again.

I bought 3 of Model City Polish's new Fall Colors when the released, and when I received them, I had an idea for a water marble pattern that would look pretty cool.  I have seen lots of different designs but one stood out as really unique - and that was the marbling that looked like a wood pattern.  Since the colors I ordered were all browns/tans, I wanted to give it a shot.  This is how it turned out:

For my first actual attempt, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!  It doesn't look as wooden as I wanted it to, but it still looks pretty nifty!  I love that the colors actually cooperated - some polishes don't want to be marbled :P  This is a design I'll be trying again, next time on all nails, and maybe with some creative freehand design on top ^_^

That's all for today - short and sweet :)  Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!  See you soon <3

*Press Release*: Ice Polish Fall Collection Swatches & Review

***PRESS RELEASE***

Welcome back to another Monday!  Did you at least have a nice weekend?  I hope so - mine was not too shabby!

Today I have a post for you featuring the Fall Collection by Ice Polish releasing this Wednesday, the 19th!  The four are themed around Fall/Thanksgiving/, and they are just perfect!

We'll start with "Where's My Pie?"
Outdoors

Where's My Pie? is a beautiful plum/red grape color with golden flecks of glitter that give it a nice gold shimmer in the sunlight.  This polish took 3 thin coats to make it opaque and dried in under 5 minutes to a matte finish.  Photos above are shown with one layer of clear topcoat.

Next up is "Cranberry Coma:"
Outdoors

Indoors

Different angle to show one of the color shifts

Cranberry Coma is a multichrome cranberry/purple/gold polish.  This polish applied very smoothly and took 3 thin coats to make it opaque.  It dried in under 5 minutes to a satin finish.  Photos above are shown with one added layer of clear topcoat.

Next we have "Gobble Me Up:"
Outdoors

Indoors

Gobble Me Up is a gorgeous gold metallic color with a scattered holographic effect in the sunlight.  Opaque in 3 thin coats, this polish dried in under 5 minutes to a satin finish and is shown in the pictures with an added layer of clear topcoat.

Lastly we have "Shop Now, Sleep Later:"
Outdoors

 Indoors

Shop Now, Sleep later is a lovely midnight blue jelly with scattered holographic glitters.  This polish is opaque in three thin coats and dries in under five minutes to a shiny finish.

The Ups: All four of these polishes are just beautiful!  I love that every one of them screams Fall/Thanksgiving to me, especially the Cranberry Coma and Gobble Me Up!  I love that the application on each was very smooth with no clumping or any layers underneath being pulled with each added layer on top.  I also appreciate the fast dry-time on these.  As an added bonus, NONE of these polishes stained at all - not even the skin!  They were very easy and mess-free to remove.  Ice Polish did a great job creating a nice variety of polishes, as well, in this collection.  It is good to see that they aren't ALL jellies, or glitters, or holographics.  It is wonderful to see a nice mix :)

The Downs: The only thing I could consider a down (and even then, it's not really a "down" so much as it is something to keep in mind) is just that Where's My Pie? is a little thick and you need to be careful when applying.  I did three thin coats because I felt if I did anything too thick with the formula the way it is, it would look uneven, or maybe pull at the layers underneath.  It was still a smooth application, however, despite being a bit thicker.

Overall:  Once again, this brand has not failed to meet and exceed expectations on her polishes!  It's pretty clear by now (what with all the princess/villain posts) that I'm a big fan of Ice Polish, and these four colors make me love it even more!  They are each unique and they are all beautiful.  They are a perfect set of Fall colors and I would absolutely recommend each one of them without hesitation!
