Smokey Mountain Lacquers St. Patrick's Day Duo

***Press Sample***

Ahhhh good ole St. Patrick's Day - the day of the year where everyone is Irish (or, their interpretation of what it means to be Irish, which is apparently someone with red hair who drinks a lot, eats only corned beef and cabbage, shepherd's pie, and soda bread, and dresses like a leprechaun).  I'm pretty sure this is also the one day of the year the Irish really don't like Americans :P

All jokesies aside, I have a gorgeous St. Patrick's Day duo to show you today by Smokey Mountain Lacquers!

This is a beautiful duo of a green cream and a citrine green glitter bomb.  Onward, to swatches!!

First up we'll check out "Shake Your Shamrocks:"

Shake Your Shamrocks is a gorgeous green cream thick enough to go on as a one-coater, but can also be applied in two thin coats (as shown above).  While upon application it seemed streaky, once it started to dry, everything leveled out very nicely and there were no bumps or streaks whatsoever - just a deliciously smooth green cream!

The second of the duo is "Lucky Charm:"

Direct Sunlight - kachow!!!!

Lucky Charm is a gorgeous citrine green holo microglittter bomb that is just astounding in the sunlight!  This one is opaque in two coats (as shown on the middle and ring fingers above), but can also be worn as a topper (as shown on the pointer and pinky fingers above over Shake Your Shamrocks).  This one dries a bit textured, so adding a generous topcoat will not only smooth things out, it will really make that holo pop!

I'll be uploading a video to my instagram today showing the intense sparkle of Lucky Charm, so keep your eyes peeled for it!

This fantastic duo will be launching tomorrow, Friday the 26th, at 7pm EST on the Smokey Mountain Lacquers website, linked below:

Also wanted to quickly mention that Smokey Mountain Lacquers also sells some pretty amazing soaps!!  With the St. Patrick's Day Duo, she sent me a bar of her lavender soap, and it is really quite nice :)  Smells amazing and leaves my skin the same!  I'll be posting a full review of it next week after I've been using it, but thought I'd also mention it now in case you want to pick up a bar when you pick up the duo ;)

So what do you think of the polish duo?  Let me know in the comments!

Polish and soap were sent to me by the maker for photography and review purposes.  All experiences with the products are my own and my review remains 100% honest.

Erin Go Bragh!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!! I'm being lame this year and not doing anything fun - comes with being a stay at home mom of little ones :P  But we *did* all dress in green today - even though St. Patrick's actual color is blue... O_o

I have four St. Patrick's Day designs I did that I'd like to share with you today ^_^  I used various polishes purchased the last month that were created for this holiday!  Let's start with the design I did using the Philly Loves Lacquer St. Patrick's Day Trio:

This trio consisted of a gorgeous emerald green holo called "Gilded Shamrock," a gold dust glitterbomb called "Claddaugh Dust," and a gorgeous green dust glitterbomb called "Fearbhirigh."  The decals used were a freebie included when you purchased the full trio.

For the next design, I used a few polishes from the "7 Tales of Luck & Whiskey" box I purchased from Fairytale Finish:

I used "Irish Creme" by Lacquered Polish for the base - it's a beautiful Irish creme color with a light creme/gold shimmer, and for the glitter accent nails I used "Glitter Luck" by Model City Polish.  I freehanded the Celtic heart knots so that when put together (in the second photo) they resembled a Celtic clover ^_^

Next, I used the Smokey Mountain Lacquers St. Patrick's Day Duo:

I loooooooove the sparkly goodness of this duo!!  The orange is "Gentlemen Prefer Gingers" and it had a beautiful sparkle and subtle holo to it.  The green is "Shamrock Dreams" and it also has a holographic effect as well as a generous dusting of gold sparkly goodness ^_^  The Celtic knotted clover is a water decal I received from Green Goddess Creations.

The last design to show you is another I created using some more polishes from the "7 Tales" box:

This one was SUPER sparkly in the sun!!  I loved it!!  I used "Radioactive Leprechaun" by Fairytale Finish for the bright, neon green, and "Blarney Stone" by Simply Beautiful for the gorgeous gold and green holo glitter bomb topper.  I placed shamrock vinyls over Radioactive Leprechaun before layering Blarney Stone so that, when removed, there would be cute radioactive clovers :D  The dots were added for funsies - I felt leaving them with just one color was too boring.

So what do you think?  Which is your favorite design of these?  Are you totally over green manis now, and looking forward to Easter/Spring ones?  I know I'm stoked for that - bring on the pastels!!!  They are my weakness <3

Hope you all have a safe and blessed St. Patrick's Day!  As you slide down the banisters of life, may the splinters never point in the wrong direction ;)

Polish Post: The Festive Fortification Box

A few weeks ago, Ellagee and Digital Nails put out the Limited Edition Festive Fortification box.  In this awesome box was a polish from each company, a sparkly hair tie, and some super sparkly rhinestones - all for $20 including shipping!  So, you know, of course I got one ;)  And I have swatches of the beautiful polishes for you!

We'll start with Ellagee's "Garrison of Glitz:"

Outdoors

Indoors

Garrison of Glitz is a gorgeous teal/pine green jelly packed with all sorts of green, blue, and holographic glitter shapes and sizes.  It is absolutely stunning!  Opaque in 3 thin coats, though the glitters can be a little stubborn and may need some encouragement to spread out and not cluster.  Dries to a semi-textured finish, so a generous layer of topcoat would even it out nicely and really make it sparkle and shine :)

The polish by Digital Nail is "Bastion of Bling:"

Outdoors

Indoors

Bastion of Bling is a beautiful deep berry red jelly glitter bombed with red, blue, and holographic glitters.  Opaque in 3 thin coats, this one also dries to a semi-textured finish.  I topped it (and Garrison of Glitz) with a generous layer of HK Girl Glisten and Glow topcoat to make it nice and shiny :)  The sparkle really pops on this one!!  And the red seems to deepen in color when indoors, which is pretty neat!

I have yet to use the rhinestones but they are the perfect size for nail art - not too big that it's dang near impossible not to knock one off shortly after applying, and not too small that it's hardly noticeable.  And I've always liked the hair ties that Digital Nails makes, because they don't leave a kink in my hair :D  Overall, it's a great box!!  I'm really glad I ordered one, especially since they are already sold out!

While you cannot get this duo anymore, both shops still offer a lot of fantastic polishes!!  Ellagee just released some new flakies and still have the sparkling gemstones collections available - though the shop is on vacation from December 2nd through the 18th  (orders can still be placed, but nothing will be re-stocked or shipped during this time).  Here are some links for you:

Polish Post: Gothic Gala Lacquers/OPNL Duo

23 days till Christmas!!  You know, I never used to be one who was stoked for Christmas.  I wasn't a scrooge, but I wasn't super excited and giddy over it - until I had kids :D  Now Christmas is so much FUN!!  I love how excited my four year old got when he saw the Christmas lights on my parents' house (ours need to be put up still), and when we put the tree up in our house ^_^

I wanted to show you the limited edition "The Noble-A Tree" duo by Gothic Gala Lacquers and Octopus Party Nail Lacquer while it is still available for purchase.  It is an awesome, gorgeous duo, and perfect colors for this holiday season - and after!

Let's start with Octopus Party Nail Lacquer's "The Royal Tannenbaums:"

Outdoors

Indoors

The Royal Tannenbaums is a lovely full-coverage glitter in 3 coats.  Dries to a semi-texture, so a generous coat of topcoat will even it out nicely.  This glitter is packed with colors and holographic glitters.  It's just stunning, and really beautiful in direct sunlight!

The other polish by Gothic Gala Lacquers is "Oh Tannenbaum:"

Outdoors

Indoors

Oh Tannenbaum is a gorgeous light green holographic polish opaque in 2 coats, though I used 3 thin coats in the photos above.  Dries in under 5 minutes to a nice shiny finish.  I just love the pine green of this polish and how stunning it is indoor and outdoors!

This duo is wonderful, and the two polishes complement each other really well!  So glad to see these two amazing indie companies collaborate to come up with this gorgeous pair!

You can purchase the duo through Octopus Party Nail Lacquer's shop here.  There's only one day left for the pre-orders on this limited edition, so get while the gettin's good!

Hope you enjoyed this post ^_^  Tomorrow I'll be showing you the second design for Challenge Your Art 12 Days of Christmas challenge!  See you soon <3

*NOTE: This duo was sent to me by Gothic Gala Lacquers for swatch photos, but my opinion is 100% honest and in no way swayed.  Links I provide are NOT affiliate (i.e. I get no kickback when you click on them through my blog).  I simply provide them for your convenience :)
