The Untried Challenge: MyStash Lacquer

Well yesterday was a real stinker - was finally getting ahead of the game with polish swatches and nail art, and my camera decided to erase all of those photos from the memory card before I had them transferred over...

I think I need a new camera.

Fortunately, I was able to re-do today's Untried challenge polishes that come from the brand My-Stash Lacquer just in time!

The first polish is called Cruisin' the PCH:

Direct Sunlight

Indoors

I have to admit, this is not a color I typically look for when polish shopping.  What got me was the gorgeous metallic shimmer and shine to it!  It's absolutely divine!  It applies very smoothly and isn't too thick.  I'm wearing two coats in the photos, and while you can still see some nail line underneath, one more coat of polish ought to make it opaque.  It dried in about 5 minutes to a shiny finish, but I added a clear topcoat to help bring out that shine!

The other polish is called Holo! Wait A Minute!

Direct Sunlight

Indoors

This one I chose because it looked like an eye-catching glitter topper - and it didn't let me down :)  Definitely sparkles something fierce!  The site describes it as a lavender color, though it actually looks a little more rosy pink to me.  When applying, the glitter spread out nice and evenly and wasn't too thick.  I am wearing one coat over Cruisin' the PCH on my pointer and pinky, and added a quick accent to the tips of my middle and ring finger, and thumb.  I think the two polishes complement each other nicely don't you?  :)

Nice to have another two polishes checked off my Untried list!  Next post I'll have some nail art for you - it's been a while, I think :)  See you soon <3

The Untried Challenge: Polish Me Silly

Today is my brother's birthday!  I got to spend the morning with him hiking South Mountain ^_^  Now I have to spend the rest of the day getting chores done and taking advantage of the kid-free house (thank you, free babysitters - a.k.a. grandparents!).  But before I get to my duties, let me tell you about the fabulous polish I have to show you today!

The next polish I picked at random from my Untried Stash is by Polish Me Silly and is called "Guilty Pleasure."  It is a glorious multichrome, and I'm not really gonna say much else - I'm gonna let the pictures tell it all:

I love love LOVE the deep purply blue that is the main shade, and all those color shifts?!  Wowza!!  With regards to formula, this polish is spot on - applies very smoothly, opaque in two coats, and dries in under five minutes to a lovely shiny finish.  I have zero qualms with this polish, and looks like I have another hit from my untrieds!

What do you think of this polish?  Are you a fan of chromes and all their shifting glory? :D

See you soon <3

The Untried Challenge: Nvr Enuff Polish

I swear the devil is in my children this morning with the amounts of screams and tearing through the house at what seems to be inhuman speeds.  Wouldn't be surprised if I look in the mirror to discover all my hair's gone white O_O  Ahhhh the joys of toddlerhood and their endless amounts of energy.  There should be a way to bottle it so I can have some first thing in the morning!

For today's Untried Polish post, I'm showing you three beautiful colors from the brand Nvr Enuff Polish.  I had first heard of this brand through Instagram and decided to check them out and make a small purchase when they were doing a sale a few months ago.  I bought the mini sizes of each polish in the Unidentified Flying Holos collection, and have used Cosmic in a few manis already (and loved it!).  Here are what the other three look like - we'll start with Extraterrestrial:

Direct Sunlight

Indoors

This blue is seriously stunning - really pops out, especially with that holographic effect!  The formula for all of these polishes was the same - thinner, easy to apply, opaque in 3 coats, dried in under five minutes to a super shiny (and I mean SUPER shiny) finish - I am wearing no topcoat whatsoever in any of the photos.  This is definitely one of the best formulas I've come across yet!!

Next up is Interstellar:

Direct Sunlight

Indoors

I love how versatile Interstellar is - it's metallic gold, with a blinding holographic effect, and some color shifts at certain angles.  This polish is super fun!!  I'll be posting a macro video of it on my Instagram to show off all the shifts :)

Lastly is Meteoric:

Direct Sunlight

Indoors

Outdoors, Meteoric reminded me a LOT of a post I wrote a while back featuring "Brain Freeze" by Glitter Gal - however the biggest difference in this polish versus that one is that Meteoric not only dried to a super shiny finish, but it looked more dusty dark greyish/black indoors out of sunlight than Brain Freeze, which just looked black.

I love all of these - and it's the formula that really sold me!  It's actually bumped this brand up on my to-watch list, and makes me wonder what their glitters are like!  Do you own any polishes by Nvr Enuff Polish?  If so, how was your experience with them?

I should have another post for you soon - and maybe some nail art to go with it! :D  See you soon <3

The Untried Challenge: The Polish Bar

Happy New Year!!!  My number one resolution is to remember to write 2015 instead of 2014 whenever I have to date something ;)

Last night I posted this picture to my Facebook Page:

That is a list I've made of 32 different indie companies with polishes I own that remain "untried."  I am going to, in the next 40 days, try all of these!  I cut each of these into strips and put them in a box to draw them at random :)  The first draw last night was The Polish Bar, and the polish is "Spring Reverie."

Direct Sunlight

Indoors

Spring Reverie is a lovely medium/powdery blue color with a subtle holographic effect.  This polish was opaque in three thin coats and dried in under 5 minutes to a shiny finish, though I did add a topcoat in the photos above.  I have to admit that at first, I wasn't too sold on this polish, and was sure I'd be adding it to my De-stash Board on Pinterest.  It's not as vibrant in color and holographic effect as I usually like my polishes to be.  But as I've seen it in different lighting, it's starting to grow on me :)  I may just keep this one around!

Due to the oddly crappy weather we're having here in Phoenix, there will likely not be a new polish post from me tomorrow, unless I draw a brand that only has one Untried polish that I could quickly photograph tomorrow, when it is supposed to be nice and sunny again.  I hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Eve, and are starting this 2015 with a lot of great resolutions!  See you soon <3
